That was Scary
by Robert Natrin from Milton, DE USA
After being told that the one resort was booked and the other big one was $210 per night we went to the Anchor Inn for $65.00 and took a room regardless of condition because the night was coming soon. There was a hole in the ceiling where one could see where the rain cascaded down for some time. The room had a smell which was indescribable. I have been all over the world and never smelled such a smell. It was overpowering and actually sickening. Fajardo has very few choices in lodging so be careful. We had to eat downstairs because there were no other choices and I wouldn't take a walk in the neighborhood. $70.00 dinner for two which was actually very good, we both had snapper with rice and beans. When we slept we felt like bugs were on us and my wife couldn't wait to leave in the morning.

Most Dirty Disrespectful, Old and Unpleasant Place!
by Veronica from Puerto Rico
I am a medical student and I checked in the Anchor's Inn based on the info the Internet provided me with. I was rotating that week at the Fajardo HIMA hospital. Thank goodness my mom came with me the first day. when you drive to the place you can see the paint and the walls are literally peeling off. Second, the place smells and there is no lobby nor reception center. You do your check-in in the restaurant's bar. No one helped us with our bags. When we entered our room, the air conditioner was off, it smelled old and like puke and insecticide, the walls were dirty, water had gone through the ceiling and the marks were still there and there was a big black hole. The corners of the hotel were peeling off too and the bathroom was very old fashioned and dirty. The window is practically a 2x2 window. The AC when you turned it on had a lot of dust. I really did not now what to do. My mom and I decided I would stay there that night since I had gotten there at night and the next day I would leave. I did not sleep the entire night! It was so horrible.

Terrible!
by Maribel from Florida, USA
We didn't even stay it was soooo dirty, They have no blankets or towels. When you go inside the room it smell really bad and the windows don't even close completely. The owner is very rude and doesn't want to help you out when you ask for blankets to sleep with.

You get what you pay for!
by JRM from New York City
The service was friendly but the place has seen better days. The food was very good. The room was old and dingy. Not a romantic place. I was by myself on a scuba trip. Not bad if you just need a "bed for your head". I would stay again because of the price. It's not like I am going to spend the day there. If you are squeamish, pay more and go else were.

Anchor's Inn
by J.E. Nemes from Portland, Oregon USA
This location offered us a n old, dilapidated "dark cave" of a room with only a 2' x 2' window in a far corner, no view. Carpet was actually sticky; had to wear shoes at all times. Overpowering smell of Pinesol cleaner throughout. No TV remote was provided. All power (A/C!!) went out for an hour around 2 AM. Slept with light on; saw bug scuttle under bed. Couldn't bring ourselves to eat in the downstairs restaurant. Looked and sounded way more inviting on the web site, then it actually was.

I Enjoyed My Stay
by Beatrice Gumbs from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands
I stayed for at the Inn and enjoyed it. The rooms were clean and very comfortable the bathroom was small but for a peaceful room with the comfort of a good bar and restaurant. I must say, the people were also pleasant.

Anchor's Inn I
by Tim & Colleen Peterson from Ogden, IA USA
We had heard the Anchor Inn might be a place to try. The food was good, the beer was cold. Just what a couple of tired travelers from Iowa needed! We asked about the guest rooms and found that they were quit inexpensive. We also asked to see the available rooms before we checked in. Some rooms are better than others we found, but the one we took was comfortable, clean, and the air conditioning worked very well. The cable TV was nice to have since the Hawkeyes were in the NCAA tournament. The Anchor Inn met our needs for the next three nights very well because we were able to explore some Puerto Rico's lush countryside and forests, also had a great snorkel trip. The Inn's location is close to good local places to eat, and a good place to sightsee from. The bakery not far from the Inn was a great place to get coffee and great pastries in the morning. We have done a lot of traveling, from five star to tents. The Anchor gave us an affordable place to stay while we relaxed and enjoyed the Fajardo area and it's friendly people. You're not on the beach, but it's not far away. I would recommend Anchor Inn to people that want to enjoy the area and not go home broke. The people there are friendly and happy to give advice on local things to see and do. Being from Iowa, getting up early to the sound of the neighbor's rooster crow almost felt like home.
