Arecibo Observatory

The Arecibo Observatory is part of the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center. Arecibo Observatory is the world's largest single-dish radio telescope, and is recognized as one of the most important national centers for research in radio astronomy, planetary radar and terrestrial aeronomy. Every year about 200 scientists visit the Observatory facilities to pursue their research project, and numerous students perform observations that lead to their master and doctoral dissertations. Open to the public for self-guided tours. Located in Route 625. Tue-Fri 2:00-3:00pm Sun 1:00-4:30pm. Closed Monday and Saturday.

Arnaldo Roche’s works are in prominent collections such as Metropolitan Museum of Art, Hirshhorn Museum, Smithsonian, and Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas. The history of our orchestra goes back to year 1956, when Pablo Casals came for the first time to Puerto Rico, place where his mother was born, Doña Pilar Defilló. The master cellist quickly fell in love with the island and lodged the dream to create a symphony orchestra. Today, the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra account with a group of very distinguished prodigious musicians.
